About

First performance: upcoming

This piece uses a text from the Trent Codices, a 7-volume collection of mostly sacred vocal music that were compiled in the 15th century. One of the few secular texts, it has been set to two-part vocal harmony by an unknown composer. It is a light-hearted and witty little verse that immediately appealed to me. I’ve tried to express this playfulness in its animated rhythms and modern harmonies that nevertheless retain some semblance to music of the past.

It is available in SSATBB and TTBB versions.
