Parts of this piece revisit the interval series and row concepts in some new variations as well as the rhythmical ideas such as the continually expanding/contracting note-values or the rhythmical oscillations. Now, these rhythmical concepts are developed further and they eventually result, for example, in the extreme tempo fluctuations of the 3rd movement. Still, or especially because of that there are two instruments, some mirroring techniques can also be found, most prominently in the middle movement. To complete the amalgamation of different ideas, ‘tonal’ elements such various scales and scale-fragment make up passages in the final movement.

Teile dieses Stücks basieren wiederum auf Intervallserien und Reihenprinzipien in neuen Varianten, sowie der rhythmischen Idee von sich ausdehnenden und sich zusammenziehenden Notenwerten oder auch rhythmischen Oszillationen. Diese Elemente werden weiterentwickelt und resultieren zum Beispiel in den recht extremen Tempofluktuationen im 3. Satz. Auch finden sich, gerade wegen der binären Instrumentation, auch oft Spiegeltechniken, auf welcher grosse Teile des 2. Satzes aufgebaut sind. Zur Vervollständigung dieser Entwicklungen spielen aber auch “tonale” Passagen wie Tonleiterfragmente im letzten Satz eine Rolle.
